Sex & Health
If you have symptoms of a sexually transmitted disease (STD), both you and your partner should be tested as soon as possible by a medical practitioner. Symptoms may include change in discharge, soreness, bumps, or blisters. Avoiding exposure is the best strategy for preventing sexually transmitted diseases. Proper use of condoms with each act of sexual intercourse may reduce but does not eliminate the risk of STDs.

Hope Clinic for Women offers testing for:

Gonorrhea*
Chlamydia*
HIV*
Herpes
Human Papilloma/Genital Warts
Syphilis*
Trichomoniasis
Bacterial Vaginosis
Pap Smears

*All positive laboratory findings for gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia and HIV are reported to the Health Department, as required by state law.

We do not provide breast exams and we do not provide or refer for abortions.

Abstaining from sex until marriage is the only way proven 100% effective to avoid STDs. For help with assessing your risk for a STD or for more information on how you can avoid infection by a STD, please call for an appointment at 615.321.0005. Fees are $15 for STD only testing and $20 for STD and HIV. Clients ages 18 years old and younger are free. Starting August 15th, we will be accepting cash only for STD & HIV testing.
