Medical Abortion Methods
Surgical Abortion Procedures
The three types of surgical abortions are:
- Vacuum Aspiration (also suction curettage)
- performed early in pregnancy, up to 10 weeks after last period - Dilation and Curettage (D&C)
- performed 6 to 14 weeks after last period - Dilation and Evacuation (D&E)
- performed early in pregnancy, 12 to 14 weeks of pregnancy (second trimester)
