Program Description

The Prevention Services Program at Hope Clinic for Women is responsible for overseeing the abstinence education program. Our aim is to promote healthy choices and abstinence among youth and young adults.

We provide classroom instruction, facilitate group discussions, health fairs, parent workshops, and speak with other professionals as part of our services. Presentations are held at schools, churches, colleges, community organizations, professional workshops and conferences.

We provide the following services:

1) Equipping youth and young adults about the benefits of abstinence and the risks involved in sexual activity. This will equip them with a baseline of knowledge for making better choices and be a resource for support.

2) Sharing with parents and teaching and encouraging them to communicate with their youth about their expectations as well as professional training for staff, volunteers and youth workers.

3) Help to remove barriers to access reproductive health services through direct services and referrals.

4) Train and facilitate a peer education group who assist in sharing information concerning healthy choices.
