Prevention

At Hope Clinic, our aim is to educate and counsel young people, youth leaders and parents on the topics of sex, intimacy, sexually-transmitted diseases, unplanned pregnancies, healthy relationships, and setting healthy boundaries. Talking about these topics shouldn’t be taboo; there should be a safe place for you to ask questions. Hope Clinic's medical and counseling staff is equipped to handle your most difficult questions. We promote healthy choices and abstinence among youth and young adults.

We provide Education, Medical Care, and Counseling.

To book one of our speakers to educate students or parents, please contact Missi Mitchell or Erin Powell at prevention@hopeclinicforwomen.org or call 615.321.0005 ext. 223.

All appointment fees are based on a sliding scale. For more information, please contact Desiree O'Neill at 615.321.0005 or at doneill@hopeclinicforwomen.org

Education

Through presentations, health fairs, and small groups, Hope Clinic educates youth and young adults about the short and long term emotional, spiritual, and physical benefits of abstinence and the risks involved in sexual activity. These efforts offer a baseline of knowledge for making better choices.

Hope Clinic provides support to parents, youth leaders, teachers, and other concerned adults. This support includes teaching and encouraging them to communicate with their youth about their expectations and how to do that in age-appropriate ways.

Medical Care

Our Nurse Practitioner provides STD testing and treatment along with an exam and PAP. We test for the following STD’s:

  • Gonorrhea*
  • Chlamydia*
  • HIV*
  • Herpes
  • Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)/ Genital Warts
  • Syphilis*
  • Trichomoniasis

*All positive laboratory findings for gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, and HIV are reported to the Health Department, as required by state law.

Counseling

Hope Clinic provides individual counseling for women and men wanting a safe and confidential place to talk about difficult issues. Topics may include self-esteem, pornography addiction, support after an STD diagnosis, or insight into why someone feels “stuck” in a relationship.

We approach counseling from a holistic perspective and address how life choices impact you physically, emotionally and spiritually. Even if you just need an accountability partner, we are here for you.
